Best MW4 Beta Weapons & Loadouts

Best MW4 Beta Weapons & Loadouts

The Modern Warfare 4 Beta is almost here, and one of the first things every player will want to know is simple:

What are the best MW4 guns?

Modern Warfare 4's Early Access Beta runs from August 21–25, followed by the free Open Beta from August 28–September 1.

Activision has confirmed that MW4 will let players build their own loadouts while unlocking weapons, Tacticals, Lethals, Field Upgrades, Perks and Killstreaks.

Because the beta has not started yet, there isn't enough real gameplay data to accurately call one weapon the absolute best.

Instead, here's what you should test first.

Best Weapon Types to Try First

Assault Rifles

Assault Rifles are usually the easiest place to start in Multiplayer.

Look for a rifle with:

  • Low recoil
  • Good medium-range damage
  • Fast ADS speed
  • Good magazine capacity
  • Clean iron sights

A balanced AR is usually ideal while you're still learning MW4's maps and movement.

SMGs

If you prefer aggressive gameplay, start testing SMGs.

Prioritize:

  • Fast sprint-to-fire speed
  • Strong close-range damage
  • Good mobility
  • Fast ADS
  • Manageable recoil

SMGs should be especially useful on smaller 6v6 maps.

MW4 launches with 12 all-new 6v6 Multiplayer maps, so there should be plenty of different engagement ranges to test.

Snipers and Marksman Weapons

Snipers may take longer to judge because their effectiveness depends heavily on:

  • ADS speed
  • Flinch
  • Bullet velocity
  • Map sightlines
  • One-shot kill areas

Don't immediately copy a sniper setup from somebody else. Test whether it actually fits your playstyle.

Best MW4 Loadout Strategy

Modern Warfare 4 introduces a redesigned Create-a-Class system combining weapons, Equipment, Operators and Killstreaks into a more unified loadout system.

When the beta starts, don't immediately stack every attachment toward recoil control.

Try building around one goal.

Aggressive Loadout

Focus on:

  • ADS speed
  • Sprint-to-fire
  • Movement
  • Close-range performance

Balanced Loadout

Focus on:

  • Recoil control
  • ADS speed
  • Range
  • Magazine capacity

Long-Range Loadout

Focus on:

  • Bullet velocity
  • Recoil control
  • Range
  • Optics

Level Multiple Weapons During the Beta

Don't spend the entire beta using one gun.

Try multiple weapon categories so you know what you want to level when the full game releases.

Weapon progression will also matter for players planning to grind MW4 camos and challenges.

If you're trying to progress weapons, levels or challenges efficiently after launch, Turbo Lobbies also offers MW4 Multiplayer Bot Lobbies, MW4 Challenge Completions, and MW4 Mastery Camo Services.

What We Will Update After the Beta Starts

  • Best close-range loadout
